Program note
“Huliet, huliet Kinderlach kol zman ihr sind noch jing, weil von Friling bis zum Winter is a Katzn Spring”
(“Play, children, as long as you are young, because the time from spring to winter passes like a cat’s leap.”)

I demand from the poem by the poet and composer Mordechai Gebirtig more time of grace for play, trial, and error. The creation allows me to play and be swept away into a fantasy of a giant playground, full of amusing and strange occurrences. Sometimes they are joyful and sometimes they get out of control. I groped in the dark for a porridge of images of mischief, flirtation, an elephant parade, witch laughter, cabaret, and one poor child crying.
